Losing weight is hard. Keeping it off? Even harder.
And despite what we’re often told, it’s usually not about willpower, the perfect diet, or the newest supplement.
It’s about biology.

Our bodies are wired to resist weight loss. For most of human history, losing weight meant food was scarce and survival was at risk. So the body adapted by slowing metabolism and conserving energy. In other words, it learned to hold on to weight because our lives depended on it.

The problem is that while the world has changed, our biology hasn’t. Today excess weight can harm our health, increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and many other conditions. Yet our bodies still fight to maintain the weight we have. Add the stress and pace of modern life, and it’s no surprise that losing weight can feel incredibly difficult.

Because it is.

I can help.
My name is Katharine and I’m the founder of New Day Weight Loss. I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2006 and a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner since 2013. Over the years, I’ve cared for many patients struggling with weight and seen firsthand how deeply it can affect both health and wellbeing.

For a long time, there simply weren’t many effective medical tools to help.

Until recently.
New medications -- known as GLP-1s -- have changed what’s possible. Treatments like semaglutide and tirzepatide have helped many patients lose significant weight and keep it off. In clinical studies, some patients lost more than 22% of their body weight.

For many people, that kind of change can be life-altering.

But medication is only part of the picture. What matters just as much is having an experienced clinician who can guide you through your options and work with you over time to build a plan that fits your health and your life.

That’s the role I hope to play for my patients.

My goal isn’t just to help you lose weight. It’s to help you build a healthier, more sustainable path forward. If you’re ready to explore what’s possible, I’d love to help.
